My Most Anticipated Releases For 2019 – Part One

Posted January 13, 2019

I missed this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. However, with the topic of “most anticipated book releases for the first half of 2019”, I couldn’t resist a slightly adapted version.

There are SO many incredible titles set for release this year, so I’m switching it up a bit and sharing some of the releases I’m looking forward to for January – June (UK release dates).

Click the cover to go to the relevant Goodreads page.

This will surprise NO ONE. Ever since I was sent that copy of Shadow and Bone all those years ago, I’ve been in love with Bardugo’s writing, the Grishaverse, and Bardugo herself (follow her on Instagram).

King of Scars is the first book in a new duology set in the Grishaverse and focussing around Nikolai Lantsov.

If you haven’t read the Grisha trilogy or the Six of Crows duology then go do that now! Apparently you don’t necessarily have to read the other two series before King of Scars but honestly, why wouldn’t you? I’m jealous of all of you who have yet to read these books!

An aside (in case you somehow missed it) – it was just announced the other day that Netflix will be creating an eight-episode series based on Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows.

Other January Titles

Keep your eyes peeled for the Strupag stop on The Girl King blog tour!

Also, my review of The Winter of the Witch is online now.

There are SO many exciting titles out in February which made picking my spotlight title reeeeally hard!

The Silent Patient has been all over Twitter the past few months with reviewers raving about this title!

I can’t wait to see what all of the fuss has been about!

Other February Titles

Look out for the Strupag stop on The Lost Man blog tour!

Black Leopard The Lost Man The Ruin of Kings The Huntress Circle of Shadows Bloodwitch Black is the Body The Plotters

I’m so excited to read this new edition of V.E. Schwab’s long out-of-print debut, The Near Witch.

Other March Titles

The Test is the latest book from the author of the Themis Files.

Described on Goodreads as an “immigration dystopia”, I’m officially intrigued!

The Test Superman Do You Dream of

Steve Cavanagh’s Thirteen made my top ten books of 2018 (review here) so I have high hopes for Twisted.

Hopefully there will be a review on the blog for you.

Other April Releases

The Boy Who Steals Houses is the second book by the incredible PaperFury. You can find my review of her first book here.

Sarah Hilary is one of my favourite authors, Every year I look forward to a new D.I. Marnie Rome novel.

I’ve reviewed the past five on the blog, and can’t wait to dive into book six, Never Be Broken.

I’ve been following her on Twitter (@hafsahfaizal) for years so I can’t wait to read it!

Lady Smoke We Hunt The Flame Aurora Rising

I only have two books on my June list so far so obviously I couldn’t pick one!

Soul of the Sword Romanov

Soul of the Sword is the second book in the Shadow of the Fox series (find my review of book one here).

Romanov is an Anatasia Romanov retelling that sounds brilliant and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
