Boy do I love March! Spring is beginning to, well…spring! Oh and it’s my birthday month. It’s such an exciting time of year for beauty – bright colours are back and dewy skin is all the rage. My favourite. So here are my favourites from my favourite month.
Usually in springtime I veer towards corals and peaches and that’s certainly still the case thus far but I have also been tickled pink so there is definitely a bright chirpy feel to this month’s faves.
Stila Convertible Colour in Petunia – The convertible colours have had so much hype in the blogging and youtube world but deservedly so. I picked this colour for me as it seemed great for my skintone but saying that, I think it would look great on everyone. It is a rosy, peachy colour (I am rubbish at colour descriptions). Be warned, a little goes a long way which in my opinion is no bad thing if you get used to how to apply it. I use either my fingers or a stippling brush. The finish that this leaves is delightful and it helps with that spring sheen that was everywhere on the catwalk at London fashion week. It is also lovely dabbed into the lips for a subtle flush of colour and for that lovely matchy matchy look. It’s pretty reasonable for the incredible quality at £16 and I will certainly be checking out the other colours.
I did a mahoosive Elf haul in Feb and reaped the benefits throughout March. Before I explored the depths of Elf’s website I took to beauty blogosphere for advice on dupes of high end products and I am pretty happy with what I’ve found. My first find was a dupe for the Kardashian fave lipstick Angel by Mac – Elf Lipstick in Classy which is a steal at £1.50!!! It is definitely more pinky than I have been known to go for yet it’s not too cool or frosted – it has a mixture of peachy and lilac undertones. I’ve been blending out with some lip balm for a day look but I have also LOVED wearing it full on for a night out and it makes a subtle statement. I’ve also been wearing it with my Soap and Glory Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip-gloss in Punchbowl (£9) over the top – a winning combo!
Another top product I discovered in my haul was their Brow Kit (£3.95) which I would definitely compare to Benefit Brow Zings (£23.50). It’s the best thing I have ever used in my brows and they are so important to me with my colouring. I use the light colour but there are medium and darks and an ashier tone available.
My nail polish of the month is Topshop’s Precocious (£5). It goes really well with the lip combo and ties the look together. Like Classy, it is pinky with a lilac undertone. I’ve have had some corals and mints on my nails this month but I keep going back to this! The formula is amazing too – long lasting and one coat gives a thick lacquer. I will definitely be stocking up on these beauts.
Oooo I just love the change from dark autumny wintery nights and make-up to the bright and promising shades of spring. Bring on April (minus the showers)! Hope you all have a great month.
