It’s that time again – ILLUMICRATE! As you probably know by now, Illumicrate is a quarterly bookish subscription box. You can find out all the details on their website, and if you fancy a look inside previous boxes then you’ll find all my posts here.
This quarter the theme is “Hidden Talents”. It’s only the second themed quarterly box that Illumicrate have done, so I was intrigued to see what it contained.View Spoiler »
First of all, we received this exclusive #prefersfictionalworlds box designed by Alice Oseman.
Although I haven’t read Fangirl, this box is cute and perfect for a wee packed lunch!
Next, we have these exclusive Infernal Devices cards, designed by Taratjah.
Again, this isn’t a series I’m familiar with personally but the artwork is gorgeous.
I love these elements page markers designed by Another Studio.
They are inspired by the four elements in Avatar: The Last Airbender. I actually have the London set that Another Studio sell on their website and they are fab.
I was excited to see a Fable and Black product in this box…
… This Camp Half-Blood Enamel Pin is inspired by Rick Riordan’s work.
I love when Daphne managed to include an additional book in the box.
This time we were lucky enough to receive an ARC of Light Years which won’t be published until October.
I’ve been seeing book sleeves everywhere recently and now I finally have my own!
This Black Panther themed book sleeve was designed by Risa Rodil.
Before I share the book with you, let me first give a mention to the extras we received this month…
… a sampler for How Do You Like Me Now? which is out later this month…
… and various promotional bookmarks, postcards and a badge.
Ok, now for the book. To be honest, this is my favourite part of the entire box!
Yeup, it’s Paper Fury‘s aka Cait’s aka C.G. Drews’ debut novel A Thousand Perfect Notes! Complete with a note about the book, Cait’s bookstagram tips (clearly I need all the help I can get), a bookmark and a signed book plate!
Oh and exclusive sprayed red pages!
It’s a stunning book – inside and out! I’ll be posting my review soon but if you want to get your hands on a copy it is out on THURSDAY 7th June 2018.
All in all, a pretty packed box!
As I said, my highlight is the book itself. I love the bookmarks too and I can’t wait to try out the book sleeve.
There’s always going to be boxes containing things that I am not familiar with, this box just had a few such items. Maybe I need to up my reading game?

To be honest, I’m still not completely convinced by this latest themed format of boxes – but maybe I’m just grumpy and hate change? That said, I still can’t wait to see what Illumicrate has in store for us with the August box!
Did you get this box? What did you think of it?
